Time is running out
There is only one slot left open for this year's S.H.I.T. Let me know if you want in or you may be watching from the sidelines (which may not be all bad since the beer is on the sidelines).

Sign up now
Now is the time. If you think you have the skills to compete with some of the finest horseshoe pitchers in Southeastern Connecticut, if not the world, sign up now by posting a comment. You can also email me at tswcpa@comcast.net. The festivities begin at 1:00 on Saturday July 11th. If you are a regular follower of this blog you know that the new pits are in (see below). Already there have been some highly competitive games. Mott and Tim (the old guys) took 3 of 3 from Doug and Will (the college boys). There has been a lack of hot chicks at the pits (except for Heather), so ladies, please stop by and show us your skills.

Safety No-No
You would think a former winner would know better than to cross the caution tape and walk in front of the pit. (Note the spectacular form of the former one time runner-up)

Pits are installed
Sunday April 26, 2009 marked the beginning of a new era in horseshoedom. The new state of the art pits have been installed. And I did it without the help of the naysayers who tell me the only tool I can use is a cellphone (to call for help). The first official game was played the following Saturday between Bill Middleton and yours truly. As you can see, the pits are now almost completely level (thanks to Mott Hinckley for the superb landscaping complete with grass and everything)

Spring is Springing
Hello Horseshoe Fans,
I am pleased to inform you that this year's tournament will have new state of the art pits in the newly redesigned tournament headquarters at 16 Chesebro Lane. Participants this year will all play their official games on the Center Pit. The Secondary Pit will be used solely for practice and other side bet games that the losers always enjoy playing. Make sure to bring a lot of cash.
Another big change this year is that the tournament will be played on Saturday, July 11th instead of Sunday. If you have any complaints see Rule 5.
Many players have already been trying to get onto the new pits, but have been unsuccessful since they haven't even been installed yet. All we can say is back off you crazy S.H.I.T. throwers, Spring Training will soon be in full force and you can throw all the shoes that you want. Keep the faith, all will be ready soon.
Sincerely, your dedicated commissioner,
Tim Williams
